Every January, for three weeks Sydney Festival enlivens and transforms Sydney with a bold cultural celebration based on the highest quality art and big ideas. The festival offers a rich program of around 80 events involving upwards of 1,000 artists from Australia and abroad covering dance, theatre, music, visual arts, cross media and forums.
In 2012 The Balnaves Foundation in association with Sydney Festival is proud to present I am Eora, a ground breaking Indigenous production that is a blend of theatre, music, dance and film. It tells the stories of Sydney's Aboriginal cultural continuity, exploring Sydney’s historical Indigenous heroes and embracing the sacred heart of the city.
Directed by Wesley Enoch, with its World premiere at Carriageworks on the 8th of January 2012, I Am Eora will feature an extraordinary group of 30 Aboriginal creative artists and performers from around Sydney and Australia.
