McClelland Gallery+Sculpture Park

McClelland Gallery + Sculpture Park is a unique high-profile national centre for sculpture with a focus on contemporary art practice showcasing innovative exhibitions in a world-class gallery and sculpture park complex.

The Sculpture Park is a mixture of developed garden galleries, landscaped and natural bushland with open grassed areas, lakes and sculpture trails. Over 80 major sculptures are on permanent display in the grounds.

In 2007 The Balnaves Foundation supported the acquisition of 8 additional hectares of land effectively doubling the size of the park and cementing its place as a world class sculpture park.

In 2008 The Balnaves Foundation, in partnership with the Elisabeth Murdoch Sculpture Foundation, acquired Ron Mueck’s Wild Man. Ron Mueck is one of Australia’s most successful sculptors and has received international acclaim.

In 2009 The Balnaves Foundation, again in partnership with the Elisabeth Murdoch Sculpture Foundation, agreed to support the McClelland Sculpture Survey in 2010 and 2012 with a grant of $300,000. The McClelland Sculpture Survey has emerged as the most important biennial outdoor sculpture exhibition in Australia.
