Sculpture By The Sea

Sculpture by the Sea is a not-for-profit organisation that produces two large scale outdoor sculpture exhibitions annually. One on the Bondi to Tamarama coastal walk in Sydney and one at Cottesloe Beach in Perth.
The 13th annual Bondi exhibition will draw an estimated 500,000 visitors to see the spectacular Bondi coastal walk transformed into a giant sculpture park of over 100 sculptures for 18 days from 29 October -15 November 2009. Sculpture by the Sea has become known internationally and regularly exhibits artists from all over the world including New Zealand, United Kingdom, Germany, Czech Republic, Denmark, USA, Canada, Argentina, Japan, and Iran.
The Crown Prince and Princess of Denmark were so impressed with Sculpture by the Sea Bondi that they engaged the organisers to set up a similar exhibition in Aarhus, Denmark.
Neil and Diane Balnaves have been supporting Sculture by the Sea for over a decade. Funds provided by the Balnaves Foundation have previously supported several of the senior artists in the Bondi exhibition each year, as well as assisting with the costs of staging this free public exhibition.
In 2009 The Balnaves Foundation is providing the funds for the main prize for Sculpture by the Sea. The Balnaves Foundation Sculpture Prize of $60,000 is an acquisitive prize with the winning sculpture being gifted for permanent public placement.
In recognition of their long standing and generous support Neil and Diane Balnaves are recognised as Exhibition Patrons of Sculpture by the Sea, Bondi.
